Some nearby up attractions

Peninsula Point Lighthouse

Our name honors this special place, at the bottom of the Stonington Peninsula where Big Bay du Noc and Little Bay du Noc come together. Hike the grounds, walk along the shores, look for the migrating Monarch butterflies and climb the circular stairs to an unforgettable view.

Other Lighthouses, Too!

If Peninsula Point leaves you wanting more, the Great Lakes are graced by more than 40 picturesque lighthouses, many of them in our area.

Kitch-iti-kipi

A stunningly beautiful spot where you can ride (actually, drive) a glass-bottom boat across 200 feet of crystal clear water. It's Michigan's largest natural fresh-water spring, and it's free!

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

We're a leisurely 45 minutes away from this can't-be-missed attraction, one of the UP's most popular tourist destinations. Hugging the Lake Superior shoreline, the dramatic multi-colored cliffs, beaches and sandstone formations will leave you breathless.

Fayette Historic State Park

A beautiful drive to the Garden Peninsula will take you to this special place to visit year-round. A restored mining village on the bay gives you a sense of life in another time, and you can walk around beautiful trails for spectacular water and forest views. In the summer buildings are open for a look into the past, and off-season you can enjoy a "ghost town" vibe in a peaceful setting.

Water, Water Everywhere

In addition to Great Lakes and bay access for fishing, boating and swimming, the UP offers a variety of watery experiences. Explore the UP's 300 waterfalls, hike along a winding creek, visit your favorite inland lake or rent a boat, canoe or kayak.

Winter Wonderlands

Come see us in the winter for even more outdoor fun ... yes, you heard us. The UP in snow is breathtaking, and whether you like to ski, snowmobile or ice fish, it's a wonderful place to spend the winter. Our favorite? Visit the Eben Ice Caves, where water gives way to stunning formations.

Other Kinds of Fun

Done hiking for the day? The UP offers enjoyable indoor experiences too: Great local restaurants (ask us for recommendations!), shopping, pubs, casinos and family-friendly fun in and near Delta County. Nearby Marquette, the UP's largest city, also features vibrant dining, shopping and nightlight options, as well as parks you'll love exploring.
